New poem let me know what you think. I wrote this when I was thinking about the deception of body image and what we tend to see ourselves as and how people perceive us as.  Thanks for viewing my page.

Deceptive Image

Why do you stare at me, as if through me?

Am I your yesterday’s trash?

Do you see the real me, or the me you want to see?

Can you see the scars that you have given me?

Are you too blind to see?

I hide,

I cry,

I bleed,

I die,

Do you even care?

What pain you cause me.

My heart it beats as if crushed.

My back it breaks under the weight.

This heartache I cannot hide.

I breathe my last under this deception.

I can no longer drink these lies.

Take this knife you have fashioned.

Plunge it into my heart,

This is my deception.
